Got off the bus at 7am yesterday completely exhausted but pumped for my 1st 2017 hunt. So, I decided to hit the beach for a little bit. Battery died after 30 minutes in. Luckily had my back up in my pocket. Got the pt an hour in and called it a day. Good timing to since I saw an army truck with 5 of them in it coming and have no doubt they were coming for me.
Hit a different beach for a couple hours last night and hit the small 24k.
6.5g pt950, 3.3g 24k

haha. it's happened a few times already. always the same thing.. I turn green and all my clothes get shredded except for my shorts
 
Couple of nice scores Steve.. why would the army or whomever it is come to stop you from detecting?

a local will usually call. In order to keep the peace the bureau either put on a show asking questions or escort me back to my hotel and check out my luggage and passport info. If I were in a tourist visa deportation might be in the cards. Especially if they want a big show put on.
They are good people just doing the best job they can

the local that called has 1 hand on the phone, the other hand on the computer mouse buying a metal detector. :mad:

thanks for the positive comments everyone... off to army beach now.
maybe see me.on the news... white guy deported for detecting... or foreigner arrested for digging holes on the beach
