US Navy button help

Can y’all help id this please. It’s missing the back which I know doesn’t bode well but it’s from an area that would definitely make sense to have a Navy button in. I can’t find a match for this one though so could someone help me out. Thanks.

I think your button may be a fashion button. The loop at the top of the anchor should be much closer to the rim. Navy buttons are the most copied. Many are used on blazers for yacht clubs, etc.
 
As far as being from the Revolutionary War to the Civil War, the Navy buttons pictured in the Tice book on uniform buttons from that period have upright or nearly horizontal anchors. As stated by the person above, the loop of the anchor should extend to the edge of the button as if the rope is going through it. There is a very rare button with a flat anchor, but your button doesn't match the rest of the details.

No, not civil war era. Not even later military. As somebody wrote above, it's a fashion button and has been in production a long time.
