Or so I thought. Found this tiny spoon in a park and it came out looking pretty good. Looked on the back and it was marked "Sterling" and I thought that seeing as it was silver, I should clean it up. Well, it turns out it was only silver plated. It also has a makers mark: Standing lions on each side of a shield. Center of shield has a "P". I'm guessing that stands for plated. My best guess is it was from a nice set and is a "Salt Spoon".

The second pic is what the spoon came out looking like after I cleaned it. Also found an old padlock and a 64 dime.

If it marked sterling, it more than likely is. Post pic of the back side if you can. Nice finds!

Unfortunately, yes it was plated. The little shiny spots are all that is left of the silver. I do like the lock, but the spoon educated me. I did not know there was such a thing as a salt spoon. Very common in the Victorian era from what I learned... Myself, I thought salt has always come out of a shaker.
