I found a Explorer 2 with sun ray pin pointer for $500.00. Is this a good deal. ?? Please any advice would be appreciated !!

Had a Sunray on my II for a bit until it crapped out. I don’t really miss it but it would save on the cost of a pinpointer you’d have to buy anyway.

Repaired at a “formal repair facility”? I think there’s a place in the UK who does. But there are also individuals who are very good with electronics of all kinds who know what they’re doing. The only roadblock you might run into would be a lack of access to parts which might be only available from Minelab, so called “proprietary” parts. That being said, I wouldn’t ever let the possibility that it might break down steer anyone away from buying an Explorer. Someone with a good soldering station and common sense can do a lot of things. Having brass balls helps. Just 2 more cents...
