Got out with gary(foundationhunter) for a bit today.we went back to a site that Gary nabbed a 1812 classic head and a 1820's excelsior button the last time we were there.
today I got a few buttons,a rivet type fastener with a train on it.a HUGE batwing type buckle, a small shield buckle & a 1810 classic head large cent.was a good day.ticks were plentiful & they still pop like popcorn when ya hold the Bic to em
5 am i was still not quite awake and forgot my camera.sorry no site pics

Cool digs! Is that a train on that one button? I found one exactly like that here in MO and didn't get it to clean up quite that nice. I thought it was an old button with a train on it, but never could quite make it out. Thanks for the pics!

thanks! it's more like a levi's button fly rivet rather than a button.maybe went on coveralls? :?: but then again i dug a 1888 harrison campaign stud the same shape as this so,who knows :?:

Nice hunt Dave and more Big Copper.. Good to see ya got out.. All I got to do today was change out our broken gabage disposal..

Found the identical railroad button a couple of weeks ago - I understand it's from a railroad worker's coat... Have found some other items here that confirm a railroad worker lived here and was working around 1910-1920. That huge buckle is ridiculously cool and the LC is sweet as well! Great outing!

Huh.. any idea what the thing is that says patent? I found something near here thats exactly like that, I accidentally broke mine in about the same place yours is.

I dug one of these just this week. I'd love to know too. Mine has a little more of the skinny end intact. Looks like it might have been some sort of handle or tool for something.

ver nice buckle and coin, i guess i need to dig deeper. i know this stuff is out there yet i find myself going for coins

Those are some nice keepers, great hunt. We found a similar train button, see attached. Any idea on its age?

Your finds cleaned up well. How do you clean your relics?
