The weather was beautiful, today, so decided to drive up to, what used to be, an old dance pavillion back in the 30's and 40's. The story is that people would bring their own bottles and the drunks wiould hang out in the parking lot and drink. That was evidenced by the amount of screw on wine bottle caps buried in the ground around the pavillion.
Despite all of the junk, I managed to dig up the coins shown in the picture; 1942 walking liberty half, no-date standing lib. quarter, 1909 Barber quarter, 1943 Washington quarter, 1947 Roosevelt dime, 1940D Lincoln, and a 1902 Liberty head nickel. I'll go back, sometime, to see what I missed.
