I found a 1930's aerial picture of a place I hunt and on it, is the driveway/dirt road that leads to this old homestead way back in the woods. Today it is a 3/4 mile overgrown foot path through a thicket of mixed pines and hardwoods. I never associated it as an access road from that era. I thought it was a more recent logging path all these years but overlapping new maps and the old one show it was the driveway/road to this old place.
I know it has not been explored. Its on private property a friend owns and the only people that use the path are deer hunters in the fall and winter. A buddy and I are the only MDers that hunt the area. We are gonna check it out next month.
