LOL...good question. Maybe because they have been the water for 200+years..?.
I don't know anything about coins that's why I'm posting here.

Ok, I cleaned it, used special lighting and played with picture contrast.....Now I got the back to show a image

yes, im very happy with my last 2 coin finds. People think this hobby is easy, ive been at it for 10 years and only this summer did i find coins from the 1700s
