Incredible surface find - 1850's Seated Half

Was at a demo site that was extremely trashy, dug a lot of trash but not a single keeper. Was about 10 minutes from leaving when I saw this sitting on the dirt.

The face side is all rusted but from what I can make out it appears to be a 1858 Seated Half.

Very strange find for that location, but Im not complaining. Good thing it was on the surface, I probly would have missed it if it was buried.

Thanks! Any idea of how to safely get that rust off? Ive never done electrolysis and dont trust myself to try.

electroylsis worked for my rusted up walker. it came out BIGTIME better after the shock . its not difficult to do the process. check youtube for some vids on how to set up and do it. trust me , if a dumb old cajun like me can do it..i know you can also lol.
