I wonder how many active members there are on the forum ?
Those who have posted in the the last couple of months.

I see there are a lot who have joined but never posted.

A lot of forums delete those who haven't posted for six months (for example).

Or send out a PM to ask if they want to stay.

Lots of turnover - I would guess any forum's membership is at least 75% inactive, that is, they registered at some point, but don't even read the forum anymore.

I'm not going anywhere. be slow lately but getting back on track!

Don't forget ~Alan~ that there are some members that are shy like me ;).

That'll be the day

I know when I got into amateur radio, there were lots of people I knew who
got their licences at the same time as me.
At least two of them never bought a radio, and one who bought a radio but
never talked on it. His wife said he was too shy to put a call out.

He was a taxi driver

It's hard to say how many active posting members there are. My guess would be about 200. Everyone seems to pop in and out, and they are considered active just by logging in, not necessarily by posting.

We don't delete accounts even if they don't post, because many members return after months/years when they really get into the hobby and may decide to start posting.

Generally, we go by the active member list at the bottom of the front page.

Thanks Carol for the clarification.
Going to do some beach/water hunting in the am.
I surely do not want to get barred from this wonderful place.

I think it is neat all of the 06 and 07 members still on. No offense to the 08/09/10 members, but I always like to think back to the "originals". Some were lost, but I like all of the ones that made it!
