Here's my past few hunts.

Awhile ago I visited a high school because I was in the area anyways but no one uses the field for anything at all so I didn't find much. Pretty much everything came from right next to a fence near the border. Interestingly enough I found out that under the grass is sand not dirt.

I've been going to one elementary school for my past hunts. Still haven't covered it all.

These finds are from 7/12 where I hunted for about 3 hours. Lots of can slaw but that's alright. I knew the thing above the earring was trash but I couldn't figure it out because it had a piece of broken black glass in it. As I pried it open I realized it was a light bulb base.

I like the medallion, if anyone knows what it is that would be great. Also stoked to find a sterling as it had been awhile.

Went back today. I started with a sand tot lot where I pulled three pennies, some foil, and iron. Including the giant stake. Also a Hot Wheels "Quicksand" car and what turned out to be my favorite find of the day, a bronze "E." The E and stake were both about an inch past the bottom of the sand in the dirt rock layer. After that I went in the grass and was doing okay pulling up crusty zinc pennies and the occasional dime. I got a signal that was mostly iron but did have some high tones that I decided to dig which I probably wouldn't have done earlier. Turned out to be a nail with a 1960 copper penny about two inches under it; really pleased that I got something like that and it has a great blue green color to it. Two kids showed up wanting to watch and given the lack of excitement on the grass I went to the other sand tot lot on the field and hunted there. They actually helped get finds and picked up surface trash which was nice. Near the lot in the grass I got my first squished penny... made from a zinc one unfortunately :(. I hand cleaned it enough to identify it as SpongeBob. Corn Flakes thing is the hood from a toy car and also two small pieces of copper.

I've gone over pretty much the entire park area at least once and there was just an obscene amount of pennies compared to the other clad. I'll probably go to a new site next time I go out detecting. 59 pennies to 11 non pennies for coins. 70 coins for barely two bucks in about 5 hours combing the two hunts.

You keep digging those tabs and pencil ends and you get a golden surprise one of these days!!
