How much do sand traps ruin beach detecting?

For a while now, there have been relatively new sand traps at both my favourite beaches to detect. At one of them, there is a large are that you can't detect anymore, it's too sanded in, used to be an excellent spot.

At the other beach, the sand traps are more recent but it's been about two years or so. I think it's having an effect.

These traps are right in front of productive areas, and there is no compromise. These sand traps (contrary to popular belief) are adding sand only, they are not creating shallow areas anywhere around it.

Anyone experience this where they live/detect?

Not sure what you mean by a sand trap, but sort of get the impression, that they are there to prevent beach erosion. If they are keeping the sand on the beach, rather than being washed back in the ocean, seem to be working as intended. The vast majority of people going to the beaches, aren't there to metal detect, they want the sand... And if they didn't have nice sandy beaches, they would come and leave stuff (mostly trash), for you to find.
