Back at the Rev spot for a couple hours after work. Dug 2 dropped brown bess musket balls, 1 fired (smaller caliber I think, probably continental), part of a nice buckle, big flat button (it's broke but I found both pieces) and surprise silver! 1917D Standing Liberty Quarter.

Congrats on the roundballs and silver! What is the diameter of those balls, I think I may have found one over my way.

You said it was a type 2. A type 1 is an exposed breast, type 2 is covered.

A rare find in that condition anyway.

It looked to be exposed breast but looking at it closer it is a type two. Covered breast. Its worn enough that I really had to look closely at it.

I also just noticed, I have found several standing liberty quarters but only two that I can read the date. Both are 1917D. Just thought that was cool.
