Stretching headphones

My headphones are fairly new and have the curly cord. I stretch it to get some length because I don't like the length of the cord. But they always go right back to shape.

How can I stretch them and make them stay?

keep using them and they will stretch.that is a given.don't forget that when you update or desire to sell for any reason,you can still advertise that everything is like new,especially the low use headphones that are stretched to twice the brand new length.
If you don't believe me,gander at some of the ads on craigslist and eleswhere.those like new headphones will have little to no coil but are as new per the seller.

cord

Go to radio shack and get another cord with male and female ends. you can plug one end into the detector and clip the other to your belt and then plug your head phones into there . You can even run your headphone cord up thru your shirt while being able to set your detector on the ground and then stand up with no problem.

that is what i did - i set mine up so the connector comes out near the back of the armrest.
