From a Christmas tree farm no less. Research found two families of 12 persons each lived there in 1800's. Got to be something there I hope.

Will be a while. Has about 6" snow cover right now and still selling trees. Hopefully sometime in January or February.

Congrats on the permission! I have a few things lined up for the spring myself.

Got around to this permission this week. Biggest disappointment thus far. Research found a family of 14 living there in 1850. There was also a small log schoolhouse there by1840. I had been at this place in the 1990's so sort of familiar with it. Found it had been filled extensively around the farmhouse and where the schoolhouse had been. Only thing significant found was a 1920 dog tax tag which was the current owners grandfather's. This was given to him of course. All this fill was at least 12" deep and done likely in the late 1940's. Very typical. Found there was another 1800's farmhouse on the property now covered by Christmas trees. Not likely to find anything there but will see.
