Okay, my last post on budget digging tools, probably. When I got into detecting three years ago, I spent my budget in a solid used MXT, so I had to kinda scrounge for heavy duty tools.

I heated a John Deere lawn mower blade over a camp stove, and used the anvil portion of a four inch bench vice to flatten one side out. Then I cut it with a cheap cutting wheel from the hardware store.

I think this cost me about $3 altogether, because I had to buy a sheet of plastic for a search, and the cutting wheel was like a buck or two. Plus I already had a can of Allis-Chalmers-ish orange paint.

2 tools in 1...a digger and a personal protector. Don't have to worry about breaking that one and if the need arises it could become a Sling Blade!

The J Deere folks around me would say you ruined your digger.
Why?
Cause you painted it orange.
They like green big time around here.
Dropping 6 digits on them there tractors.
