Some of you guys find a lot of these but my sites usually aren't so giving.
Only the 4th one I ever found, 2 were about as smooth as a baby's bottom, 13 days ago I found one that was in ok shape and I could read the date but this one is in the best shape so far.
Pitted and dirty, I scrubbed the heck out of it to get it this good and I will continue to do that until it's clean.
I want at least one in my collection of dug nickels that looks decent.
In an old park in some pretty compacted dirt, rocky and clay filled and I swear to god if this thing was more than a half inch deep I would be lying.
Just under the grass, an extremely short beep so I think it was standing on edge but my F70 and new Sharpshooter coil zeroed in on it.
Hard to believe this coin had probably been sitting there for about 100 years or more so shallow in a park that has been scoured to death for decades but it was.
Love finding buffs but love these more.
Still looking for a shield nickel but this will hold me over.
