I got this some years ago in the condition that it is in now. It had obviously been cleaned by a kid or something like that. I'm sure I didn't pay much for it. My question is of course, what is it worth? I know that this and 99 more cents will get me a dollar. lol As you can or can't see, there is good definition on the wheat lines and else where.
Thanks for looking. BH

I would get it authenicated and slabbed. Even though it has been cleaned it looks 1000% better (to me) than most on auction sites. This doesn't mean it will get the BIG $$$ but there are LOTS of collectors who would love a "red" 1931S cent.

I'd trade you a Morgan Dollar right now for it!:D

You have a very nice coin right there.

I recently sold a 1910S cent. It was cleaned but it did not look half as good as yours. I got $30+.

Hope this helps.

says,

Date...........Avg Circ..........Avg Unc
1931 S *.....$42.20...........$95.00

I think the pics make it look better than it is. It looks cleaned in person. I am tempted to trade but I think it is at least worth the low end of rhe scale.
Thanks though, BH

The 2012 official black book of coins lists it for ABP $60.00 G4 $85.00 F12 $110.00 VF20$125.00 EF40$130.00 hope thi helps.

What is ABP? I know G good, F fine, VF very fine etc.
Thank you, BH

i think ABP stands for "about poor" but i've never heard someone say that, but then again poor would be one or the only grade below good...

Sad this coin looks @ VF but the cleaning was harsh and that can and will kill a coins value. I would say as it sits you would do really good to get @ $40 for it. WOLF
