Would you be able to use navel jelly on a heavely rusted relic ? I know this stuff works great but how great i have'nt a clue. Has anyone ever tried it?

Never tried it. I always use electrolysis.

KT has used naval jelly.....

to remove rust from the top of a table saw that got wet. But if you use it on heavily corroded objects, then it will leave the item heavily pitted because it will eat all the way down to what's left of the steel or iron.

i can't say i've heard of naval jelly. :?:
but a question for turtlefoot: after you do your electrolysis (by the way, nice job on the knife!), do you treat the metal with anything, some sort of oil perhaps in order to prevent further corrosion and deterioration from taking place?
