Hello my name is Joey. I first got started metal detecting
when I was probably 15 or so (now 32). My dad had lost his watch while
we were replanting the back hard at a rental house he owned.
He had a seriously old school detector (not even sure
of make). Anyhow he turned me loose. I found the watch, and
a hand full of change including several wheat pennies. I've been
hooked ever since.

I used my dads detector with fair success until he bought me a
Bounty hunter for graduation. I used that detector with decent
Success until May 2012. That's when dad and I both bought
a whites. Dad an MTX and me the MTX pro.

I have a 6 month old son and a 4 year old daughter so metal
detecting time is very short. I'm a Captain on a full time fire
department and another firefighter any myself go out once a week
during the lunch hour. We head out never going more than a few
houses in any direction. So if we're lucky we get an hour a week
to go hunting.

Anyhow enough about me. Just wanted to introduce myself
and say happy hunting!

Joey

Welcome Joey,

You will injoy this forum...Happy Hunting

Greetings and welcome, from Aurora, CO. I've been Treasure Hunting for more years than you are alive. I'd be enjoying this unusual warm weather, with my new, unused, AT PRO if I hadn't broken my arm a month ago. That's why I'm up in the middle of the night, because of the pain in my arm. Just can't sleep and I hate to get hooked on drugs.

Anyway, as you say, "enough about me". It's great that you still have your "Pop" and can share the hobby. That's a huge treasure in itself.

Regards,

Keith

Welcome joey

you live in a beautiful part of Colorado, I wish you and your family the best in regards to MD'ing. The MXT family of detectors is incredible, I detect occasionally with a fellow here on the front range that uses an MXT exclusively and he does very well.

Enjoy this forum, there are lots of Colorado MD'ers here and you should fit in very well.

Happy hunting, ColoKid

Gosh guys just read my post. Sorry for the typos!!!! I made this and that post on my phone which has a sometimes helpful and some times frustrating auto correct feature.

Seriously though thanks for the welcome. I look forward to being part of this community.
