I found this in dry sand at the beach yesterday. I was excited when I first saw the "diamonds" but got bummed when I realized it wasn't a ring. What is it?

I found this ... What is it?
Ear gauge
What she said. Made of surgical stainless steel. Worthless

You can test the stones, but likely they are glass...especially when the base material is SSTL. Real stones usually have an open back so they breathe... e.,g, reflect, refract, and disperse light. Occasionally some designs with pave set stones may be enclosed...but again, its rare.
