Default I D FILTER QUESTION on racer 2

I like to run my machines open so I tried a low filter 1 and 0 and 10 today. I went to a iron infested site with the 5 x 10 coil but seems like I was getting a TON of falsing on iron with the filter set so low 0 and 1 that is. Anyone else noticed this? I had gain on 85 maybe I should have lowered it and it might have helped with the falsing. 3 tone is the progam I was in.

Makro Racer 1, and 2,, and Nokta FORS CoRe, and Nokta FORS relic,,,,have had and used all these.

They when in intense iron,,,,.Do NOT round off the corners with iron,,,like the Deus does in the sound.

Running lower ID filter or I.D mask-- same thing btw just different detectors,,,,running lower will yield a tad more depth,,,and allow a smidge better separation.

Will take some practice,,,to get the feel for it,,,,being able recognize a false vs good signal.

Keep at it,,it will come.

2 tone with same gain setting vs 3 tone with same gain setting,,,more sparky,,but 2 tone is deeper.....remember you could a small gap in iron,,and this extra depth capability could be what helps you strike a find.

Ground balance manipulation on the above detectors,,,does very little to nothing on depth.

Cheers.

Never liked the way it high toned off the side of iron, always sounded the same as a coin beside iron, not clear cut enough for myself, plus it got no depth in my soil.

I have not laid the deus down just been buying and testing detectors.I think thats what was happening to me the other day ghound , I was chasing ghost signals like crazy. The makro is a nice detector but its NOT a deus.

Ive tried a bunch of detectors too in the 200-700 price range and even the more expensive ones will false badly in iron. You can usually tell its iron but it is not as cut and dry as with my Deus. I just sold a Teknetics G2 that liked all the big iron in my seated field. I would have to listen for the very faint iron buzz on the edges of the target. The Deus should better though for nearly twice the money. AT Pro was my favorite cheaper detector that Ive used

Deus is at top of the pack,,,the way it relays tonally on iron.

The sharp points of rusty nails,,,many detectors will have problems with these.

A bent nail,,this is where all detectors can get fooled,,even Deus.
