Default CTX3030 li-Ion battery not holding a charge

It's there anyone that rebuilds them or do I need to buy a new one?

If it is less than a year old then it should still be covered under your warranty Dave

I called Minelab, they told me batteries are under warranty for 6 months so mine is no longer covered.

I thought you were at the JGD hunts.

I talked to a guy at Batteries Plus about them and he said that leaving them on the charger too long or charging it too often(when it really doesn't need charged) are two of the worst things you can do for that type of battery and unfortunately I have been doing both of those things.

I see where they make an CTX alkaline pack that lets you use 8 AA batteries instead of the rechargeable battery pack.

Yes, every CTX3030 comes with the rechargeable pack as well as the one that holds 8 AA batteries
