Hit a site yesterday that I've been hitting hard for a number of months... Id given up on it... Ive pulled some cool stuff out of there but never expected this to be under my nose.

1937 Buffalo nickel, in great shape, date clear as day...

My heart was pumping I was so psyhed!!! My first really cool coin find (second was my 1941 quarter from 2 weeks ago)....

Anyway check it out... should I clean it?  If so, how?

Still looking for 1800s coin... if anyone has someplace to go near Westchester NY, drop me a line!!!

Sounds like a great find. The pic was not attached though....

Congrats! I hope you're able to post the pic.

Nice find.
Beyond a gentle water/soap toothbrush scrubbing, I wouldn't do anything to it.
It is what it is - A nice, old coin that has been underground for decades.
Trying to make it look nice and new would be like putting a baby dress on granny.
Just be glad you got a readable date. Mosy dug buffs do not.

If it's a 1937 three legged -D Buffalo, they're worth a chunk, By the pict I couldn't tell for sure. Hope it is though, smg

Great find !...the dates on those Buffs wore off quick ; must have been near new when dropped....good luck on that 1800's find ; 8,000 coins and I've found one - an 1898 Indian Head... Roadrunner_426
