I got this ring from a friend and am trying to figure out what it is. The ring has " 9 .375 " markings on it as well as some symbols. Is this related to the amount of gold in it? Im not even so sure it is gold, looks copper to me but it is not tarnished. Any help would be appreciated.

Haha, man... I have nothing better to do. I sit on this site for roughly twelve hours a day while at work and just refresh the new posts... if you notice, I'm the first to reply to most anything, haha.

For this search I did: "9 .375" ring as my search string

Did you check out that weblink I posted?

"our ring is 9 karat, meaning 9 parts of pure gold in the metal mix making the jewelry gold; the rest is other metal used to make gold workable for jewelry, mainly silver and copper with perhaps a trace amount of some other metals"

So yeah, it's got other stuff in it, most likely copper.
