Hello Everyone! I received my first metal detector (see sig) from my wife this past Christmas after being infected with the MD bug thanks to my father. I have been enjoying the heck out of getting in some coil time (the wife might say too much time already, LOL). While this is my first post here, I have been lurking around for a while and have already learned a LOT from the many posts here.
So far I have been focused on learning the language of my LRP and getting familiar with different techniques and tips for relic and jewelry hunting as well as coin shooting. After getting to know my LRP a bit and picking up a few tricks from various posts here, I am rather impressed with its abilities thus far, the 11"DD coil in AM has enabled me to identify and retrieve several pennies and dimes from 6-8" in iron infested soil. I have access to some pretty cherry spots that so far do not seem to be picked over. I feel extremely lucky that some of my first finds have included a 1935 Merc, two TootsieToys (UX214 and Ford GT) and several historical items from my grandmother-in-law's 1880s-era farm, my own backyard, and other public properties near me.
