Has anyone converted any type of hard case (like a guitar or rifle case) to use to hold a NOX? I want something a bit tougher then a bag.

A friend converted a compound bow case and it seems to work great for him

How small does the Nox break down to?

I have a Racer 3 which comes apart into three lengths and I have managed to find a plastic tool box that will hold it plus my finds belt and other accessories.

In fact the only that doesn't fit in is my spade and if push come to shove I could fit a folding GI shovel if I wanted....

Other than that, I would think either a hard rifle case or one of the more heavily padded tactical rifle cases would be the way to go...

The longest piece is 24". I am hoping to find an aluminum case someplace. If worst comes to worst I can spend $50 and drive to Cabelas and pick up a new one. I was just looking for a cheaper alternative.

Ive seen a thread here that has multiple pics of modified bow and rifle cases used for detectors. Ive always wanted a hard shell case but never got around to it.
