Google Earth Overlay Question

I did an overlay few days ago, today I open GE and the overlay is not there, but a big ugly red Box and X is....

So what did I do wrong?

Where did the overlay go?

How do I remove the red x so I can redo the overlay if I need to?

I made this mistake before, if u do an overlay and them move the picture from its original location in your folders or delete it, you will get the red X
