A buddy and I have been doing some CRH and I found a 1970 S proof kennedy half dollar. Would this be the regular 40%er or since its a proof is it a higher percentage?

Google it and definitely KEEP that!! Congrats! I have searched over 40k in halves and never seen one of those.

Congrats!

1970 is the last year for the "business strike" (coins minted for circulation)40% silver halves .

Actually, their were no "Bussiness strikes" in 1970. Only S mint proofs and 1970-D coins for sets were struck. They are both 40% silver. WOLF
