Yup.....another newbie, and probably with questions, but not right now.
Have had an interest for years, but life was always in the way. Approaching retirement age, and have started looking for a deal on an MD. I'm leaning toward a Garrett 250 or 350, but I'm a patient tightwad, so it might be awhile.
Thanks for letting me in the door, and I'll try to conduct myself in an acceptable manner.

There are lots of videos on YouTube about different models of detectors that could be of help in deciding which one is right for you.

The Garrett ace series should make for a fine first detector IMHO.

I opted for the AT Pro in hopes that I won't want to upgrade too soon.

You are now a member of a wonderful lil spot on the internet. Search, research and don't be afraid to ask questions. Lot's of fine folks here that are happy to help.

Welcome from NC! The ACE series is a great place to start. As you can see from my signature, my time with the 400 didn't last long before I decided to upgrade. :cool:

Oh, look.....there's a Fisher F4 on Ebay. And the ratings for Fishers for beginners are pretty good, according to this site's own corresponding thread.
I might just have to try to get that.
