Red face Need help

Ok so I am really new at metal detecting and I am having trouble finding good locations of CW battles. Please help!!! I am open for any locations

Do you have a library in your town?
Go there and do research.

Library of Congress is online and you can access the Official records of the Civil War, maps and all.

You will need to give us your location. Otherwise I would just say the whole state of Virginia.

looking at places in lousiana. I am in SouthEast Texas so not much Civil War activity.

You might check the history of the Texas war for independence. San Jacinto area leaps to mind. Try to get detailed info of related camps, activity and such outside of the associated park battlefield area. Who was where, when?
