I am working on a project to adapt 6 AA batteries to my Cibola.
I took a couple pics of the first stage. Later I will add a led voltmeter
for monitoring the constant voltage of the batteries anytime.
I will have now plenty of time at season's end

just a step forward...

today I was in the mood to continue the battery adapt project ...
Now I only need the digital Voltmeter with led numbers ,which will attach to the
upper cover.
Note: the wooden 9V battery :D

.... and ... an extra battery pack for when you are in the middle of nowhere

Curious but whats wrong with just using the 9 V battery?

Well,
by comparison with my ACE250 ,my Tesoro has always consumed the charge
of the battery in a few hours.Of course,I have always used rechargeable 9 V
batteries.
If you do a short day's hunt is OK,but if you go on a long trip - a detecting
adventure
far away from the next grocery store I guess this could be the solution ;)

Rechargeable batteries make that much of a difference?

Thank you. I see you also made a good adapt -I find yours perhaps better
than mine WTG !

Mine are the same thing. Made them out of wood but just sanded them and painted the for looks is all. Funny how two different people on opposite ends of the world can come up with the same idea! I loved mine it lasted forever compared to the 9v's. Only thing you may want to change if you stick with it is to mount the battery box back under your arm for better balance.

Yes, I didn't see your thread but I guess the "fake battery" thing is the easiest way to make the connection.
Instead of painting it black I chose a Bayern München sticker for its pretty
rainbow colors :D
Once I get the bright led voltmeter I will post more pics of the finished work.
