Have pulled many old school regular thimbles and seen others pull silver ones but today while hunting the historic society building I finally got mine. Love the design on it as well. If anyone knows thimbles and can help get me in the time period for this one, would be appreciated. HH

Thats a cool azz thimble.
Congratulations serial.
I dug my first a few months back .had no idea it was silver until I cleaned it up.
Unlike yours mine dont have a date on it .

I guess it couldn't be 1981......

When did they start doing patents?

If it is 1881 then that IS a spectacular find!
I found two early this year and both were by MKD , which I'm quite sure are not quite that old.......but I was happy........
 
Wow !!!! Now that I think about it a bit more, that is an awesome awesome score.....
I had found two earlier, but they didn't have any sort of date on them....although they do have the makers mark inside.
Can you get a good shot of the inside to see if theres a stamp in there?
 
One exactly the same but with a monogram sold on Ebay for $66. Nice find.
