Quick Hunt After Work Nets My Oldest Cent!

My buddy hipped me to an old lot he found in a neighboring city, so I got off work early and hunted it. When I got there, someone was already there with his kid, hunting the lot. He was a really nice guy, and did a good job of cleaning up, so I hope to meet up with him again some time. This time I was that guy that just shows up and hits a nice coin right off the bat. What a jerk I am!

It's not as old as I initially thought, but still my oldest cent!

Thanks, all! I really like the patina, so instead of cleaning this coin up more, I may just leave it as is and throw it in with my other coins. Well, maybe I'll clean up the front a bit with a toothpick...
 
I decided to risk the patina on the obverse, and glad I did. She turned out pretty nice.

That’s one sweet Indian Diggum! Major congrats! My oldest coin is 1921, (or an 1800 something Chinese cash coin), lots of room for improvement :laughing:
