Found this chunk today at a site that Snowy & I have exclusive permission to hunt (we've also found several LC's a couple gold rings, and a 2 cent peice there, not to mention a bunch of musket balls and some very cool artifacts).
It's not pretty, but I'm pretty happy with it.  ;)
It's a 1791 Spanish 8 reale. Got it 7 inches deep. Sang like a bird on my DFX!

SHUT-UP!!!

Very nice find, but your heaven was my hell!

What a long story this is!

Well, to make your long story short, love...
"I have it, an' you DON'T...!"

OH, .... SHUUUUT UUUP!!

Next time Penny the pup is at the door with those puppy dog eyes wanting to come with, YOU get to take her ....
AND .... to top it off..... I hope your batteries are nearly dead and she chases YOUR coil like it's a toy ..... and when her collar gets close enough to your coil I hope it sends your harmonics into a FRENZY!!!

(not grumpy here... just grumpy and having some fun with it!)

BTW ... Here's a pic of Penny, our new puppy ... she was named by a member of our metaldetectingmaine forum. She had a blast with my coil today ... I had to keep her away by digging junk so she'd be distracted by the hole, which she dove into with her front feet and entire head:

Bet you danced a jig on that one. Awesome find!

Actually, he didn't ... he thought it was some kind of washer from some piece of farm equipment. I watched him to be sure he put it in his "save for later" pocket instead of his junk pocket.

I bet your happy with that find ,keep the finds comming ,sounds like you have a fantastic place to hunt. 8)

Way to go on the coin, is that what is called "a piece of 8"?

I'm pretty sure, Spittfire, but I'm no expert.  :?:

Voriax... it has the "M", but I don't see anything above it.

Oh, thanks, Jeff...! I feel the part now!

Yup. I also found 2 half reales. ;)
