Hello from Prairie du Chien Wisconsin!! I am newbie in his first season with the metal detecting bug. Only time I hope I will ever say this, but I think i was bitten by a super bug!! The relics have been "pouring" out thus far, even though i am using a starter machine (Ace 400). Only one silver thus far, but it was a 1940 Merc, so i am pumped!! Also found Civil War and War of 1812 relics, including a War of 1812 shoulder plate, a War of 1812 rifleman's cuff button, and a Civil War Dragoon cuff button. . Hoping to find some more fellow SW Wisconsin hunters interested in joining up occasionally to treasure hunt both in my area and theirs in the upcoming season. This hobby is ultimately more enjoyable with others, and there are no active clubs in this area currently to join.

Welcome from........... SW WI ........ever been there? lol

This hobby is highly addictive, welcome to the affliction.

Did you try to get a permit to hunt the PDC parks? I under stand St Feriole Island is off limits, but years ago I heard stories from the detectorist who were able to hunt it before it was banned. My mouth drools when I drove on the island, however since its now host several events including the Rendezvous I'm sure their is a pile of modern trash, too.

My mouth also drools for the Island and its treasures as well!! I did get my license for all of the parks and such, but have so far found private property to yield much better results thus far. Thanks for the warm welcome!!

Big T and I will drive to wherever we are needed...

I would love to meet fellow treasure hunters in the spring of 2018 and hunt both my areas and theirs. I am already working on Geo-referencing my area, looking for old mill sites and homesteads. Crawford and Grant counties along the Wisconsin River (my backyard) is chock full of old town sites in farm fields, just waiting to be discovered.

Welcome from South Carolina !!!!

Congrats on some really neat finds !!!!

Thanks GKL for the warm welcome, as well as your service to our great country. Both are very much appreciated!

Welcome canslaw đź‘Ť Your certainly finding goodie like a pro . And do not underestimate the capability of your sweet Ace ! I think often we put too much weight into the gear we use and not enough on reasearch location and learning the gear we currently own . Just go dig buddy . Your obviously doing it right .
If you have any questions just ask . Some amaizing friends can be made here .
HH, Dew

Thank you all for the warm welcome! The name of the site is certainly not click bait! This is certainly the friendly metal detecting site!
