What is the best way to test your finds for gold, silver, diamonds etc?

Hello.
I am new to all of this but am starting to find some gold, silver, and possible diamonds. However, I have no idea how to know, for sure, if these items are real/fake. What is the best way for me to know for sure whether or not they are the real deal?
I appreciate any and all help.

You can buy test kits for cheap on flea-bay, and diamond testers are pretty inexpensive too. as far as silver goes, a tiny drop of household bleach on an inconspicuous surface will tarnish it immediately.

I am sure there are better ways, but that's what I got.

Take it to a Gold and Silver buyer. If they start laughing, it's probably not real... :laughing:

I got a jewelry test kit off Amazon about a year ago that had all the acids, scale and diamond tester for about $25. Seems to do the job fine for as little I get to use it.

What is the best way to test your finds for gold, silver, diamonds etc?
