Hello all,
Came across this great forum while looking everywhere for knowledge to make an educated decision on which detector will work for me and my budget. I live near the gulf beaches so will be spending more time there than elsewhere. I haven't had a detector in the past but have always wanted to explore this hobby. Due to medical conditions I have retired and now have the time. I don't need the biggest and newest, I just want one that will introduce me to the excitement of finding coins and jewelry or whatever the beach/land will surrender while on a fixed budget. I watch Craigslist all the time for used machines but again I don't know enough to make the final decision so I'm here to learn.
So thanks for all who participate in the forums allowing all the girls and guys like myself learn from your experience.

Welcome from South Carolina !!!!

Check with the forum sponsors first and see if they have what you are looking for in your price range, be sure to mention that you want to also detect on beaches.

IF you do decide to buy from Craigslist, be very careful where you meet, preferably at a police station.
