Button maybe?

Hello gang
I dug this up in Northern Alabama. I’m thinking it’s a button but I’m not sure
If anyone can give me any information on it I would greatly appreciate it.

Looks like monogrammed button or cuff link AYS.

Might be monogrammed for a club or organization and not a person. Maybe the "A" stands for Alabama or Adventist and the "S" stand for Society. Alabama Youth Society or something.

That's funny, I looked at it and say "FLYS". Of course my eyes are getting old so don't trust what I see!
