Have not been detecting this year, but hit the beach after the crowds left. Just some clad and some tabs, that could have been gold rings! And it's great to use the machine to do what it supposed to do! You never know, unless you look!

I gotta agree... just getting out is the best part. Finding gold and such is just a way of keeping score with yourself. A bad day detecting is better than a good day working.

Getting out is the great, finding something is inevitable....Trash or treasure.
I strive for a ring, any type of ring, just for that winning feeling, but a handful of coin to pay the parking meter works too :laughing:

Yep! A good ordinary day's hunt is definitely worth it!

I went on a night hunt at a remote beach last night. Didn't score any big treasure, but it was amazing swinging away completely alone under a blanket of blazing stars.

Yes. Thanks all for sharing those comments. I have found a lot of great finds. They all were surprising finds, that just seemed to be waiting for me to dig. But my big nemesis is a real gold ring! That's why I dig tabs!!!!!! Good luck and enjoy! HH
