I got out today & did a little civil war relic hunting. Things are growing up fast. The field I hunted has grown at least 4" in a week. I need a little help on a bullet. Its the small one. It looks like a little sharp's. It mic'd out at .455". I found a carved Prussian bullet today. I like that one. Thanks for looking & HH

Your bullet is...

a .44 cal Bartholow pistol bullet.....nice find! Like that carved Prussian too! Great hunt buddy!

A nice bunch of lead. I like it. Carved lead is pretty interesting. Nice going.

Great finds again digger!! I can only hope your out today and can't wait to see what you find. Is the smashed lead from a soldier discharging his rifle directly into the ground?

There pistol balls. I don't know if there civil war or not. They have the right patina. Yes buddy I'm heading out right now. Thanks for checking my finds out. HH TIM

Congrats on some cool lead, buddy! That carved bullet is a beauty -- wonder if he was trying to split it into slices, but never got finished? Fun to think about what they were doing back then.

I have the slightest idea what he was up to. Its probably the ciilwst carved bullet I have though. Probably nerves were getting to him. We've been finding carved .69 minies there on every hunt. I thought it was cool that the bullet is a Prussian. I haven't dug many of those. HH
