Military Badge ID? Not Nazi

I found a WWll Victory Medal this morning and another item I’m trying to ID. It seems to be a badge with Eagle above. It is large and heavy. I think it’s copper with heavy corrosion.

Nickel for size reference. Any help to ID greatly appreciated.

You need to try and brush some of the crud off it (use a brass brush) to try and make-out what's on it.

Just a hunch, but looks more German than US.

Gauntlet. I just got some gunk off. I can see more detail now. Definitely German. I can see last 4 letters on right side edge “RIER”. Attached new pic.

Looks more US than German to me
Maybe a sheriff's badge?

Not Nazi

Did more cleaning and revealed the word GREENBRIER. Hat badge from early 1900s at Greenbrier Military School. Clean example below.

Hi, great find. Do a search for Great Old 1950s Gateway Transportation Co. Truck Driver'…I think they look similar and what you have might be one. See my attached picture. Hope this helps you!
