i've finally scored my first silver of the year!
i was on vacation last week and did a fair amount of beach clean-up, managed about $30 worth of clad, several pounds of trash but the jewelry had been eluding me.
the very first signal i got today sure sounded and read like silver (88-90 on the At Pro) and out pops this tarnished ring. took a quick look-see inside at the time and i couldn't see any kind of markings on it.
after i got home, i got curious and rubbed it inside with a scouring pad and sure enough, i "think" i see some sort of writing in there! a bit more scrubbing, a closer look with the 10x loup and sure enough.... STERLING! yahoo! :D
that was refreshing to see considering i haven't been out 'tecting any where near as often i would have liked this summer, had some health issues for almost all of July and half way into August and i suppose if a person just doesn't have the energy to get out, then they don't go. :no:
at least that's pretty much in the past and i'm running at very close to 100% again, just in time for some good fall hunting! :D

thanks for looking,
Pete ;)

Nice oldie!!

Congrats!

<°)))>{

thanks Mr Ice! :D i don't know how long it takes for a silver ring to get that tarnished in a salt environment, but this one has been there for quite some time! the beach in question faces north and it doesn't get the wind and swells that the other beaches around here get, so very little sand cleaning/tumbling action on this ring.

Well, you did in fact "seize the day" since you did come up with that ring. Next time, may you "Seize the Gold"
Nice score on the coin as well, Congrats!!
