I got out this afternoon and detected around an older home that my uncle owns. It is extremely trashy as the area was used as a junkyard for years prior to him purchasing the property. I've pulled only a few wheats and another newer merc out over the past few weeks. After digging lots of trash, I got an iffy signal, dug down, and was real surprised to see the gleam of silver. It is a very nice 1918 S merc. Unusual for me to dig S mintmark coins here on the east coast. It is my oldest mercury dime and I'm very pleased to have found it.
