Hi all,

Found a cache of silver plated spoons in the middle of the woods. They were spread out randomly several feet from one another. I also found a shotgun casing and tent grommet in the area. Spoons bear several markings including, "Manger Hotel" 'Oneida Hotel Plate Triple' 'IS CO XVII" "Hoods", etc. The appear to be from the 50's or 60's.

Anyone had similar findings ? Remnants of a camping or hunting trip perhaps....

I found a fork and spoon on a recent hunt in the woods.

While I cannot say what this area was, I can say keep hunting it hard!
Any time you find utensils "in the middle of nowhere" it is a good sign:yes:

It means people spent time there and probably dropped a few coins too.

Seems they were taken from a hotel most likely. Maybe someone thought they were getting away with some silver utensils, only to find out they were only plate. So decided to chuck em , neat finds! I always enjoy finding old silverware, plated or not.

Went back to the location today - rehunted it for 3 hrs - not a single hit - very disappointed.
