I happened to see an old ad for metal detectors and searched for more.

Maybe some of you had started this hobby long enough ago that you might remember some of these ads or even responded to them or remember seeing them as a kid and had it on your "wish list" ! :iwish:

Compared to today's models and today's ads some of these might give you a good laugh too !

If you see any old ads I couldn't find yet please feel free to add more !

I just noticed that the "grass" in the picture looks like loose grass carpeting they just threw on the ground,
.......I thought the blades of grass looked too perfectly even :laughing::laughing:

I'm not sure, but I don't think this one was part of an ad as far as I know,
but I added a caption as to how an old comic book ad might present it to kids.:laughing::laughing:

My first detector was a Jetco Treasure hawk. Mine had a different coil though.

thanx for posting GKL ! Some of those are pretty old ! While others are as recent as the late 1970s or very early 1980s.

Cool thread!

Man, some of those prices were pretty steep.

Back then Mr. Spock would put his name on anything. :D

I wonder what the Tracker TR7 gal looks like now? :D

You started a while back I guess.

I wonder what batteries they used before 9volt batteries as I imagine some older detectors predated the 9volt.

Wow our hobby has come a LONG way!!!

I wish I would had started when I was a kid, a lot more silver back then !

Yeah, when you figure those prices were when a dollar was worth a lot more than today !
