I went into the detecting store here and the guy said the cops will harass you if you detect in the city parks. Mexican forum said the same. Not illegal, but they don't like it at all.
I bought a sand scoop for when I get to the coast, but I'm not really a beach hunter (hand scoop and non waterproof control unit).
I'm hoping to get in some other than beach hunting time while down here.
