so cal.
I told one of my friends to check out the coinstar where he shops, nothing much until today two dimes 1961 rosie and a 1876 seated dime. the seated has been partly drilled but its still a great find. good times.

That is great... the machine at the supermarket I shop is always empty (the reject bin, that is)... the employees keep a close eye on it and get all the good stuff. RickO

A friend found a Buffalo nickel in the bin yesterday.

Immediately rushes over to my place thinking he found something
very old.

I told him, it's not old, see? no date. He gave it to me and left.

Great tip. I see these all the time and never think to look in the reject bin.

(now I wanna rush tot he store just to see LOL)

Once, I saw a guy pouring a huge jug of coins in a coinstar and I stood there waiting for him to finish so I could see if he left anything in the reject tray. He kept looking at me weird. He probably thought I was weird just standing there watching him or maybe thought I was going to rob him. Anyway, he left without looking in the tray and sure enough, I found a very nice 1943 steel penny in there.

Checking Coinstars is one HARD way to make a living, or even justify a "hobby"!!!! Then again, I pick up aluminum cans.........:lol::lol:
