When it is to dry to hunt? I have not detected in over a month. Its to dry here to cut a decent plug. Does anybody know how to do a rain dance? :badrain:

Know what you mean. Here the Red Wichita clay is as hard a concrete. Only suggestion is to hit some of the lakes while the water is so low. But good news, Fall is just around the corner.

Texas hunters what do you do

I haven't hunted in 3 months
I cross that big river to the casino at least it's cool in there. It better cool of
and rain soon or Ill be looking out the window.

terrible

Man I haven't been out more than a few hours in 2 months, Down here in Lake Dallas we need a Jackhammer to dig a target, I was begging for a freak storm/turdfloater today. According to the extended weather forecast we have no relief in site either! I'm using this time to buy the things I will need when I can Hunt again, I'm pouring over the other forums MD specific posts in the sub forums for tips and info, I'm reading my manuals over and over and practicing on my Control boxes, knowing it will all help when I can hunt again. I'm still enjoying our hobby, I just can't detect right now... GL & HH.....Pat

I am lucky that I have an old middle school that was closed last year....my plugs aren't pretty, but no one is going to complain. Still, I take water with me and pour it on the plug....my luck they will ban MDing because of all the 6" round green circles on the grass.

Pat I have also been practicing. I took a large peice of cardboard and taped a bunch of targets on it pulltabs, beaver tails, can slaw, foil, nail, coins,
silver ring, 14k ring, 10k ring I turn it over and try to guess what it is. Still trying to figure out the tones on that golden umax.
I will be calling you when it gets cool enough for this old man.

what about top finds stuff people lose on top of the ground covered by dust fresh lost stuff like in parks and in play grounds ,i find alot of top clad and rings and stuff:yes:

I've got cracks in my pastures an inch wide and several inches deep, it's so dry around here in North Texas. That black gumbo dirt around here in some places doesn't help either.
