Plz keep in mind I'm brand new to MDing but I got my f5 yesterday and just had enough time to do a little air check after I put it together before bed. Anyway often when in the presence of something heavily metallic and in close proximity it would go nuts...like all the number values would turn into dashes and it started making sounds really loudly like repetitive ringing kinda like you just won big on the slots in Vegas or something...anyone know what that is? Is this normal?

F5 Question

Ren7,
Yes it is..what you have done is overload the unit...large piece of metal...
Just raise your coil off the ground and it should settle down..
Just watch the videos on youtube for the Fisher F5....

Ok thanks...I just needed to know if this was normal. I've viewed a few of the videos, I just haven't come across this issue in a video. I just wanted to make sure I didn't have a defective unit or something.

The stock coil is waterproof right?
